Greyfriars Bus Station

Once voted the third most hated building in Britain Greyfriars bus station in Northampton finally closed down in February 2014.

It was built in 1976 at a cost of £7,250,000 (£50,000,000 in todays money).

It may have been ugly and outdated, to some, but the closure has caused controversy within Northampton as the replacement station is not seen as practical by passengers and bus drivers alike.

I spent the morning of the stations last full working day photographing the end of an era.

It is due to be demolished in March 2014.
